To summarize though, Tomato Bank, NA is a nationally chartered bank with 7 branches throughout the USA.  They work with an American company to allow non-Americans to apply for what is known as the ACCENT Tomato Bank Account. You'll have to forgive the strange name of the bank but, rest assured their level of service is, in my opinion, far superior to the large international banks most of us deal with.



Applying for the account is simple and can be done within 5 minutes.  You need to provide 3 forms of ID (a photo ID, An ID with proof of address, and a utility bill) and you scan and upload them.  You are not asked to pay anything until your application is approved (this takes 1-2 business days).  After that you make your payment and you'll get your account and you'll receive your Visa debit card within a few weeks

One thing that is very important is that ACCENT Tomato Bank Account is in every way a true bank account.  There are other services online that advertise debit cards that can be connected with PayPal etc. but these accounts are what's known as "direct-deposit" accounts.  Direct Deposit accounts are dangerous because the card issuer has one account where all members funds are pooled and if a few members misuse their account then every other card holder can be affected!  With the ACCENT Tomato Bank account you get your own bank account, you get a Visa Debit card with your name on it and you get a unique account number and a full suite of additional services.
