How To Open a
US Bank Account

Introduction

Sometimes it seems that the world is truly against you if you are trying to make money online and you aren't a US citizen.

There are so many advantages to opening a US bank account that I advise everybody to get one before the banking rules change again and the process gets to be nearly impossible.

Originally I expected to be able to recommend to you a free US bank account however after many weeks of research the free accounts are either extremely difficult to open or end up costing money in set-up fees and notarization costs.  I've included a guide if you'd like to research the best account yourself.

I have provided you with a lot of information about which US bank accounts are available to you and in my opinion most of you will benefit most from the ACCENT Tomato Bank ® account although it is not a free service.  You'll see my reasons for this below and also why I now believe that it's worth paying a small administrative fee to get started than to work with larger banks which prove extremely problematic.

Advantages to Opening a US Bank Account

  • Connect it to your PayPal account so that you can actually withdraw your earnings (if you live in a country where PayPal does not support your own bank)

  • Cash a $US cheque without it taking up to 2 months to clear in a foreign bank account

  • Sell products and services in $US to the world's largest online market

  • No need to pay expensive bank processing fees to cashing $US cheques or bank wires

  • No need to convert your online earnings into your local currency (unless you want to).  PayPal charged 2.5% for doing this so you'll save money here.

  • Some affiliate management websites will only pay money to US bank accounts.  Without one you cannot join and benefit from their services.

  • A Visa ® debit card issued by a US bank can be used nearly everywhere (both offline and online), and it can be used to withdraw money from local ATM machines.
